Principal's Message
This weekend starts Catholic Schools Week. I am very
excited about seeing everyone. There are lots of
activities planned for next week, with plenty of fun for
everyone. If you know any new families who might like to
send their children to SJCS, please invite them to the
Open House on Sunday, January 31 from
10:00 to
1:00.
Just a reminder about the Spaghetti Dinner. We need your
help. Teachers will be busy serving dinner, so please
help us to reinforce our indoor rules of no running and
no yelling.

FACTS GRANT
AND AID APPLICATION FOR 2010 - 2011 SCHOOL YEAR:
St.
John's
Catholic
School works with FACTS management to help us
distribute our Financial Aid dollars in a way that is objective
and fair. Applications for Financial Aid must be completed
online. There is no cost to a family to make this application.
This fee is paid by the school. We will not be using paper
applications this year but will make a computer available for
any family that does not have access to the internet. Once your
online application is complete you will also need to send FACTS
a copy of either 2008 or 2009 tax returns and your 2009 W-2's to
FACTS in order to complete this process. The deadline is
FEBRUARY 12, 2010.
If
you do not have internet access, please call Marie Maderal in
the school office (725-5507) to set up a confidential
appointment to use a school computer.
Annual Fund
There is still time to be a part of the annual fund. Every gift
matters and the larger percentage of families donating the
better our odds when we are looking for funds...believe me, we
will be looking for plenty of funds for our new construction!
Thank you to the 14 school families that have already
contributed. Please consider a donation today...every gift
matters...Thank you, Annie
Volunteers Needed
for Cafeteria
We
really need help in the Cafeteria on a daily basis. In the past,
we have had two parent volunteers each day. This year, we are
lucky to have one. With no backups, there are days when the
cafeteria staff are stretched to the limit. If you can help on
a regular on on an "on call basis, please contact Eileen Beale
at 729-6617 or
dejbeale@suscomme.net
6th Grade Project
We
would like to inform you that our school will be participating
in a program that we are calling "trash-wrappers
to Cash-wrappers". This is a program that
recycles wrappers and makes these wrappers into purses, pencil
holders and other such items. This program is terracycle. We
will have a box in the cafeteria that students may put the
following wrappers in: koolaid, cliff bars,
Capri sun, Store brand snack products, Oreo
cakesters and large oreo wrappers, Lays chips products, Sun chip
wrappers, Hershey products, Skittles, snickers and twix.
We will be sending these wrappers to teracycle at the end of
every month and we will get two cents for each wrapper and that
money will go to the school for more supplies that we need.
Please participate in helping our school, these proceeds will
be very appreciated.
Thank you,
6th Grade Class

Snape, Kari Wiese, and Natalie Santaguida insured that the
students were not only vaccinated but cared for afterwards. A
very special THANK YOU
goes to Mary Maderal,
Kathy
Capoldo and
Mrs. Tostevin
who made this clinic run so smoothly.
St. John's
School had a 70% participation rate which is
fantastic.
