2009-2010 Professional Vacancies:

 GENERAL STATEMENT:  St. John’s Catholic School is a faith-filled community where our beliefs and celebrations of Mass, Prayer and other liturgical activities support children in all academic endeavors.  Because our faith is an integral part of everyday, we prefer our staff to be Catholic.  However, it is not required for staff to be Catholic but that they have an active Christian life.

 Certification:  Professional teachers must be certified in the state of Maine or be eligible for certification.  All staff must be fingerprinted through the State Department of Education and have a current CHR approval.   

Diocesan Requirements:  The Diocese of Portland requires that all employees and volunteers complete a Diocesan Application, have a background check, receive training in child sex abuse prevention, and adhere to the Diocesan Policy on Ethics.
